Pickles Kids

I’m Nic from Pickles Kids. I have my gorgeous son to thank for the creation of Pickles Kids, as I started sewing for him whilst he slept. I found it hard to find cute boys products & started making him bibs; it has basically just snow balled from there.

Dribble Bibs

I now have two little Pickles that “help” me, Dexter (almost 3) and Piper (4 months). We live in the beautiful Mount Maunganui and we truly wouldn’t live anywhere else!

Pompom Garlands

My favourite product would have to be our Nappy Clutches, as I think they are such a Mumma accessory. These bad boys are stylish & SO practical! I use mine everyday and don’t go anywhere without it. Whether you have a boy or girl – just pick whatever design you love. Many times I’ve been told…I didn’t know how much I needed this Clutch until I’ve got it! I think one feature that sets it apart from the rest is the trigger clip & handle. This allows you to clip it onto anything, Pram, Trolley, baby bag, Capsule, etc

Though I love my Nappy Clutches my bibs are my favourite thing to make. As they come in such a variety of prints I just love seeing the finish product once I’ve sewn that label on.

Gorgeous fabric combinations!

I have big plans for Pickles Kids with new products in mind for Summer 15/16 and Winter 16. Watch this space!

Have a look at Nic's gorgeous website and follow her on social media to keep up with her new fabrics and designs. Don't miss out on entering her giveaway of a 'Citron Dots' dribble bib too.
Thanks Nic!

Just Sew

Hi, I am Nicki, a Mum of two preschoolers with a passion for fabric and home decor, in particular cushions! I worked in the interiors/textile industry for 15 years prior to having my children hence my love affair with decor.

Gorgeous Handmade Home Decor

Cushions are a cost effective, easy and gorgeous way to add a bit of wow to an interior. They can totally transform a room! I call them soft and cuddly pieces of art and I don't think you can ever have too many!

Beautiful Cushions

From cushions I have expanded to children's decor - cot duvet covers, pillows, bunting with bed duvet covers on the horizon - wall art, ottomans and, in the pipeline, lampshades.

Children's Decor

My aim is to provide well priced, quality, handmade items that are unique. I make a very limited number of pieces per fabric design, so you know you are purchasing something special. No mass production at Just Sew!

Cut Out Wall Art

I love working with cotton, and only ever use cotton for bedding. As well as stock pieces I am also happy to custom make. Just let me know what theme, pattern, colour, etc you are after and I'll do the rest. Shopping, especially for fabric, is another passion of mine!

Doidy Cup Review

With a huge thank you to Jackie, I have been given one of her fantastic Doidy Cups to review!

Range of Colours

From The Doidy Cup Website...
'A Doidy Cup is a slanted cup scientifically designed to encourage babies to drink from a rim rather than a spout. It has a unique slant which enables babies to drink easily from it as they can see the contents within the cup. It has 2 handles on the side for easy holding. Breast fed babies from 3 months or earlier and bottle fed babies of 6 months or earlier can be introduced to a Doidy Cup.'

My Thoughts...
This is what arrived in my mailbox in super quick time!

Packaging

Doidy Cup available in a range of bright colours!

My first impression was great! Fun and informative packaging, neat colour (with sparkles!) and I was immediately intrigued on the slant of the cup.

My youngest wee man is just over 2 and he tried it out! The cup is fantastic and the single best feature has to be the slanted design meaning that he can see exactly what is in his cup which gives him better control of how much water he was getting into his mouth. And for those of you who have toddlers, you will know how important this is in preventing spills.

He very quickly got used to the cup. I love the two handles which make it even easier for him to hold and use. With other cups I often catch myself saying 'use two hands' but with the Doidy Cup there is no need for me to say anything about this as the handles do the talking! You can adjust the handles by placing your thumbs on top of the handle where it meets the cup rim and gently pull the handles out.

The Lowdown...
The Doidy Cup is made in the UK and is BPA free. It can be sterilised, is dishwasher proof (top shelf) and freezer proof.

It is a universal one size cup which contains approx 140ml.

Suitable for:
+ Babies
+ Toddlers
+ Special needs children & adults
+ Rehabilitation following injury or illness'
